MY MODERN MOUNTAIN
The CEO to one of Italy’s largest industrial conglomerates wanted to build a holiday destination where all of his staff would feel comfortable. White collar mixing with bleu collar. Top management having an expresso at the same bar as the labourer. So he bought a whole mountainside in the Dolomites and gave a local architect free reigns to build his dream. Using modern design—we are talking 1958—to dissociate all visitors from their social context, this place became indeed a beacon of solidarity within the company.
And the inspiration for a women’s ready-to-wear collection.
